Pathway Studies

KAMK offers a wide selection of English-taught degrees that provide valuable core knowledge, hands-on experience and networking opportunities in your future industry. Students can complete studies through different Pathway programs. Read more about our various opportunities.

 

1. Pathway Based on Open UAS Studies

The Open UAS pathway studies are based on KAMK degrees’ curricula and can be accredited towards a degree later. Studies are taught face-to-face and as full-time studies on campus. Pathway studies help you to prepare for higher education studies and reach the skill level needed for admission. Upon successful completion of the pathway studies, students can apply for degree studies at KAMK.

The extent of Bachelor’s pathway studies is approximately 60 credits, which corresponds to one academic year of study. The cost of pathway studies is 250 euros.

KAMK offers Open UAS pathway studies for free for people who have fled the war from Ukraine for humanitarian reasons.

Note:

Open UAS studies are studies that do not lead to a degree and it is usually not possible to receive a residence permit to Finland based on Open UAS studies.
Open UAS pathway students are not entitled to student financial aid such as study grants from KELA.

2. Pathway to Finland offered by Edunation

Bachelor Pathway

This one semester Pathway to Finland programme provided by our Finnish educational partner Edunation offers applicants from outside of EU/ETA area a convenient and affordable way to gain admission to degree programmes with us. Pathway studies will be partly or fully accredited as part of the degree. Upon completing the Pathway, you will be given guaranteed access to your pre-selected degree program. Edunation’s qualified teachers will help you to develop your language and academic skills so that you can comfortably start your degree studies. Same time, in collaboration with us, Edunation’s skilled professionals will help you with all the practicalities related to studies and arriving to Finland. Depending your location, you can choose to take part in the Pathway completely online from your home, or choose from some of the study hubs provided by Edunation. Read more on Edunation webpage.

Master Pathway

This one semester Master Pathway to Finland programme provided by our Finnish educational partner Edunation offers applicants from outside of EU/ETA area a convenient and affordable way to gain admission to degree programmes with us. Master Pathway studies will be partly or fully accredited as part of the degree. Upon completing the Master Pathway, you will be given guaranteed access to your pre-selected degree program. Edunation’s qualified teachers will help you to develop your language and academic skills so that you can comfortably start your degree studies. Eligibility for a Master’s degree programme at KAMK:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (first-cycle degree) or a similarly appropriate higher education degree including a minimum of 20 ECTS studies in the relevant field (studies in business or studies related to gaming accomplished in a higher education institution)
  • A minimum of 24 months of work experience in a relevant field after completing the higher education degree
  • Successful completion of Edunation Master Pathway Programme.

3.UAS Pathway

The UAS Pathway Studies to Finland program, provided by the Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) in Finland, offers applicants a convenient way to gain access to apply to degree programs in Finland. In the UAS Pathway program you study the first year online from your home country. At KAMK, the pathway enables access to bachelor’s degrees in International Business and Game Development.

4. Top-up Programme

Top-up programme offers students who have completed a higher diploma to continue their studies towards a Bachelor’s degree. Completing the Bachelor’s degree in the top-up programme takes up to three (3) to four (4) semesters, i.e. 1.5 to 2 years.

Entry Requirements

  • Applicant holds a school-leaving certificate that makes him/her eligible to apply for higher education in his/her come country (completed before entering the current institution)
  • A Higher Diploma with transcript of records in English and a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CBPA) of 2.00 or above (out of 4.00)
  • Successful completion of a Higher Diploma, where the language of instruction was English; or Achieved an Academic IELTS of 6.0 with no band score below 5.5; or equivalent qualifications

Tuition Fees

Based on the Finnish law, a tuition fee will be charged from all non-EU/EEA students. The tuition fee for top-up students varies.

Structure of Studies

  • 72 – 85 ECTS of courses at KAMK. Courses to be completed at KAMK will be planned based on the completed higher diploma
  • 30 ECTS practical training. Practical training to be completed at KAMK will be planned based on the completed higher diploma
  • 15 ECTS thesis.
