Possibilities for KAMK Students

As a KAMK student, you have the opportunity to complete part of your studies and practical training abroad. As a general guideline, you can go on exchange after your first year and complete your practical training period abroad after second year.

You can also take part in short-term mobility periods, known as Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP), which combine studying abroad with virtual learning. Information about BIP courses and how to apply for them will be provided separately.

All students can apply for a grant from KAMK to help cover additional costs related to going abroad. The easiest and most cost-effective way to go on exchange is through one of KAMK’s partner universities.

In addition to the regular student exchanges, Business and Tourism students can complete a double degree. This means that you complete part of your studies at KAMK’s partner university and, upon graduation , receive a degree both from  KAMK and the partner university.

You can choose between short-term mobility and long-term student exchange at one of KAMK’s partner universities.

Short-term mobility is typically offered as a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), which combines a physical period abroad with a virtual component. During the virtual part, students work collaboratively with peers from the host institution. The physical mobility period usually lasts about one week, including travel days.

Long-term student exchanges take place at one of KAMK’s partner universities and typically last one semester or longer.

All students can apply for a grant from KAMK to help cover additional costs related to going abroad.

At KAMK, you will study in an international environment where students from different countries learn and work together. International degree and exchange students play an important role in campus life.

You can also take part in activities and events organised by the student union KAMO, offering opportunities to meet people, experience Finnish culture, and become part of the student community.

KAMK organises several BIP courses each year in cooperation with its international partner universities. During these courses, you study together with students from partner institutions, and teaching is delivered by KAMK lecturers in collaboration with international experts. Information about BIP courses available in your degree programme will be provided separately.

You can go on exchange regardless of a disability, illness or other special needs. In addition to the mobility grant, you can apply for accessibility or inclusion support through the Erasmus+, Nordplus, north2north and TFK programmes.

The support is intended to cover additional costs arising from special needs, such as expenses related to accessible accommodation, travel and mobility arrangements, study-related adjustments, or personal assistance services. The support is granted on an individual basis according to your needs.

The Erasmus+ programme also supports students with fewer opportunities to participate in mobility. In such cases, you may be eligible for a fixed top-up grant if, for example, you have dependent children, act as an informal carer, or have a disability, health condition, or migrant background.
