KAMK’s Christmas Donation to a Charity Campaign
Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) is donating this year’s Christmas gift (2,000 euros) to a charity campaign that distributes Christmas food packages or gift cards to low-income families with children. The campaign is organized by Apua ja Iloa ry, a local charity association in cooperation with K-Market Lohtaja, a local grocery store.
As Christmas approaches, the financial situation in many households can be challenging. Rising food and energy prices have tightened budgets, and many families have to carefully consider what they can afford.
– The Apua ja Iloa ry Christmas campaign has, for several years, collected Christmas food packages for families with children in Kajaani. We want to support this activity and help bring Christmas spirit to everyone, says Matti Sarén, Rector of Kajaani University of Applied Sciences.
On behalf of KAMK, the Christmas donation was handed over by Rector Matti Sarén on 4 December 2025. The donation was received by Teemu Lindqvist, the campaign coordinator.
–This year, many companies have faced economic difficulties, which has made it harder to obtain support for the campaign. KAMK’s donation was very much needed so that we can help as many low-income families with children as possible, says Lindqvist.
KAMK has supported local initiatives in various forms with its Christmas donation for several years.
The KAMK community wishes everyone happy holidays and all the best for the year 2026.
