During the studies, you will gain a comprehensive overview of the different aspects of the tourism industry, such as accommodation, catering and program services and event management. You will study the current trends and phenomena in the tourism industry and build a strong competence base for multidisciplinary collaboration in the tourism operational environments. Studying in a multicultural group supports the development of your expertise into a professional for the international tourism industry. During your studies, you can choose to specialize in hospitality management, event management or arctic sports and tourism.

The theoretical knowledge gained from studies will be applied into practice in projects and events together with the local companies and organizations. Our wide network of international partner universities gives you the opportunity to explore the world further. Specialization studies, international exchange, practical training and thesis provide you with the opportunity to focus your studies according to your own interests. During this English-taught degree, you will study in an international group and working in a multicultural environment is part of the learning process. Foreign students will study the Finnish language as part of their studies.

During your studies, you will learn to develop and deliver high-quality experiences for tourism and to manage tourism businesses with an entrepreneurial attitude. The Bachelor of Hospitality Management with a focus on Tourism will have the skills to work in tourism development, sales, marketing and production tasks, tourism management, and as independent entrepreneurs.
After graduation, your job title might be Receptionist, Tour Operator, Event Specialist, Traffic Agent, Travel Sales Coordinator, Front Desk Agent, Front Office Manager, Restaurant Manager.

Specialization

In the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism you will specialize in Hospitality Management. However, at KAMK, the School of Business includes degrees in Tourism, Business and Sports allowing you to select courses and modules from other fields as well, such as Arctic Sport and Tourism or Event Management. Participating in student exchange and completing part of the studies in one of our partner universities abroad makes it possible to broaden the specialization of your studies.It is also possible to choose a double degree with our partner universities.
The studies include 5 months of practical training that also gives you an excellent opportunity to strengthen your skills in different areas for a desired career.

Student Agreement

All non-EU/EEA citizens selected for English-taught studies leading to a Finnish higher education degree must read and approve a Student Agreement before accepting the study place. The Agreement applies to students who will start their studies after 1.1.2023.
