Academic Calendar

During the academic year 2025-2026, students will have a total of 40 working weeks (34 teaching weeks and 6 weeks of independent study) and one week of holiday (week 52).

Autumn semester 2025
19 August 2025: Orientation days for new Bachelor students start
19 August 2025: Orientation days for new Master students (full-time) start
21 August 2025: Orientation days for incoming exchange students start

25 August 2025: Continuing students start their studies

18 – 21 December 2025 Independent study (no teaching)
22 December 2025: Semester ends

Spring semester 2026
29 December 2025 – 11 January 2026: Independent study weeks (no teaching)

12 – 14 January 2026: Orientation days for new students and incoming exchange students

12 January 2026: Semester starts

2 – 8 March 2026: Independent study week (no teaching)
25 May – 3 June 2026 Independent study weeks (no teaching)
3 June 2026: Semester ends

In the academic year 2026–2027, students have a total of 40 working weeks (35 weeks of instruction and 5 weeks of independent study) as well as two holiday weeks (weeks 52–53).

Autumn semester 2026

16 teaching weeks from 18.8. to 31.12.2026

• new students will start on Tue 18.8.2026 (orientation days during Tue 18. – Fri 21.8.2026)
• continuing students will start on Mon 24.8.2026
• one week of independent study in week 42 (12. – 18.10.2026)
• On-campus teaching ends on 13.12.2026 – one week of independent study in week 51 (14.-20.12.2026)
• a holiday period in weeks 52-53 (21.12.2026 – 3.1.2027)

Spring semester 2027

19 teaching weeks from 1.1.2027 to 6.6.2027

• one week of independent study in week 1 (4.-10.1.2027)
• new students will start on Mon 11.1.2027 (orientation days 11.1.-13.1.2027)
• one week of independent study in week 10 (8.-14.3.2027)
• On-campus teaching ends on 30.5.2027 – one week of independent study in week 22 (31.5.-6.6.2027)
