The International Business degree at KAMK develops the necessary skills and competencies for positions requiring business expertise in today’s global and multicultural working life. The studies emphasize applying the learned theories into practice. Hands-on projects, practical training and thesis are a great way of learning, interacting and building networks with the working life.

You will delve into the profound influence of megatrends set to reshape the global business arena. This strategic approach equips you to emerge as a resilient and agile manager, adeptly navigating the dynamic currents of the global business landscape. During the studies, you will gain insights into the manager’s responsibilities in planning, organizing and leading within the workplace as well as understanding the management practices in the international context. You will deepen your understanding of managing global supply chains and learn to understand the key principles of service design thinking in business development. You will also learn to create and evaluate the customer experience journey and manage the digital business. In the specialization studies, you will dive deeper into strategic marketing communications and digital marketing solutions.

Graduates of the International Business degree will be able to apply for a variety of employment positions, from entrepreneurship to working in management roles, project planning and development roles, and sales and marketing positions, all within both the private and public sectors. It is also possible to continue studies towards a Master’s degree in a university.

After graduation, our alumnis are working for example as Junior Analyst, Strategy Analyst, Executive Assistant, Content Producer, Digital Marketing Specialist, Marketing Specialist, Strategy and Customer Manager, Vice Director of Marketing, Planner and Strategy Consult.

Specialization

For you second year specialization module worth 15 credits, you can choose between Marketing Communications, Event Management or Hospitality Management.

As a student at Kajaani University of Applied Sciences you will be able to complete a part of your studies and/or practical training abroad using our wide network of partners. Participating in student exchange and completing part of the studies in one of our partner universities makes it possible to broaden the specialization of your studies. It is also possible to choose a double degree with our partner universities.

Student Agreement

All non-EU/EEA citizens selected for English-taught studies leading to a Finnish higher education degree must read and approve a Student Agreement before accepting the study place. The Agreement applies to students who will start their studies after 1.1.2023.
