Research and Study Infrastructure
Health Forests increase awareness and interest in the health effects of forest nature. In Kajaani, the Health Forest is located next to Kainuu Central Hospital, and it doesn’t only support the wellbeing of people, but also offers a suitable learning environment as well, for example to day-care centers and schools.
We have been closely involved in the planning and implementation of both Health Forest in Kajaani and Syntiniemi’s accessible nature recreation area in Sotkamo. The accessible circular trail of the recreation area circles around the peninsula.
Our own goal at KAMK is that our university of applied sciences will be carbon neutral by 2030.
