In the Moninaiset iltamat (Diverse Evenings) event series, the dream Kainuu will be envisioned during the spring

In the first event of the series on March 10, the theme is placemaking and an equal Kainuu.
Moninaiset iltamat (Diverse Evenings) event series will delve into questions of urban and regional culture during the spring. The events provide a relaxed environment for discussion, ideation, and encounters.
– The idea for Moninaiset iltamat was born from wishes to strengthen community spirit in Kajaani and Kainuu. Moninaiset iltamat provides a place for discussions and encounters that arise most easily around topics of interest to people. In the evenings, we will get to ponder not only placemaking but also other interesting themes related to Kainuu, explains project specialist Marjo Remes from Kajaani University of Applied Sciences.
Perspectives on regional development and the Kainuu regional program
In the first Moninaiset iltamat event on Monday, March 10, starting at 17.00, participants will explore the principles and possibilities of placemaking, examine places in the city of Kajaani through visual mapping, and take a peek into Kainuu in 2029. Speakers at the event include community coordinator Karoliina Kuvaja from the Seminaarin Taidekampus, placemaker and architect Päivi Raivio from RaivioBumann, and regional development expert Minna Komulainen from the Regional Council of Kainuu.
In collaborative sessions, participants’ thoughts and wishes related to equal regional development and the preparation of the Kainuu regional program will be gathered.
– Urban spaces and comfort have a significant impact on the attractiveness and retention power of the region. In the event, people interested in placemaking and urban experience can collectively brainstorm what their dream Kajaani and Kainuu would be like, says Remes.
Moninaiset iltamat (Diverse Evenings) will be held at the Seminaarin Taidekampus (Satamakatu 3, Kajaani) on Monday, March 10, at 17–20. The event is open to everyone interested in urban space and its development. The event is organized by the Kainuu in all its diversity project, co-funded by the European Union, and Seminaarin Taidekampus.
Registration (in Finnish) – Moninaiset iltamat 10.3.
