Project description

The project aims to develop new educational solutions for the renewable electric energy sector. The most significant of these solutions is a 60-credit higher master’s degree engineering program called “Energy Transition Management.” In addition, smaller study modules will be developed for target groups seeking to enhance their skills, ensuring the construction of continuous learning paths. To offer education broadly to individuals with various educational backgrounds, a 30-credit module will also be created, which can be incorporated into other master’s degree programs.
The design and implementation of these educational solutions will be carried out in close cooperation between Kajaani, Tampere, and Vaasa Universities of Applied Sciences. This collaboration enables extensive regional impact and the utilization of the universities’ specialized expertise. Moreover, collaboration with companies and universities is crucial for the project. Currently, there is no similar educational package available in Finland. In addition to the educational package, the project will build national and international networks to share knowledge and experience on current and future topics and phenomena in the renewable electric energy sector, as well as best practices.
The project will also design and implement an interactive wind power-themed learning game, which will be utilized in the project’s educational offerings. This digital learning game will diversify the pedagogical solutions in the field and provide users with a motivating and inspiring learning experience. The needs of the renewable electric energy sector will be addressed through close and systematic network cooperation.
The educational package and other project activities will be designed and implemented in interaction with organizations in the field. An interregional steering group has been established to guide the project.
