Kajaani University of Applied Sciences is Traficom’s service provider and organizes supervised A2 additional theoretical knowledge examinations for drone flying.
The regulation to harmonise drone operation throughout the EU entered into force on 31 December 2020. According to the regulation, those using drones with a mass exceeding 250 g or drones equipped with a camera must register as a drone operator, familiarise themselves with drone operation and in most cases pass an examination regardless of whether they use the drone for hobby or professional purposes. Operating in the ‘open’ category does not, however, require a separate operational authorisation (Droneinfo)
Kajaani University of Applied Sciences organizes additional theoretical tests required for open category A2 activities related to drone flying. Before attending the A2 additional examination, you need to have the A1/A3 online theoretical knowledge examination and the self-practical training completed.
The exam is conducted on the premises of the University of Applied Sciences under supervision. At the test, you will need to prove your identity and present a receipt or copy of the payment made. After completing the exam, you will receive a test result and a certificate of the passed exam in your e-mail.
The exam fee is 50 euros. You can make the payment in our online store. Contact droneinfo@kamk.fi via email to arrange a suitable time for taking the exam. You will receive detailed instructions on registration and payment in the reply.
