New perspectives on career and entrepreneurship through mentoring – MATCH MADE mentoring program starts next week

An open and free mentoring evening will be held on February 25th, 2025, at the Kaukametsä Auditorium.
The MATCH MADE mentoring program, organized by Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, Kajaani City Municipal Enterprise for Education, and Entrepreneurs of Kainuu, will start next week. The mentoring program is aimed at entrepreneurs in Kainuu and students and professionals interested in entrepreneurship.
– The mentoring program supports community spirit, and during the program, you get to meet experts from the Kainuu region. Both the mentor and the mentee gain new perspectives on entrepreneurship or professional work through discussions, says project manager Mari Määttä from Kajaani University of Applied Sciences.
The mentoring program is free of charge, and you can register on the Business Kainuu website. The duration of the program is three months.
– The mentoring program consists of a training session conducted by the Mentors of Finland, confidential bilateral discussions between mentoring pairs, mentoring morning coffees, and a common closing event in May. We encourage participation with a low threshold, says Määttä.
The program is implemented in a language-aware manner, meaning that the events of the program are organized both in Finnish and English. Some mentoring pairs may therefore operate in a language other than Finnish. The language-aware approach aims to integrate non-native experts into the working life of Kainuu.
The mentoring program will be introduced in the mentoring evening
The MATCH MADE mentoring program will host an open mentoring evening on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, at 17.00–19.30 at the Kaukametsä Auditorium. Everyone interested in mentoring is welcome to attend.
– During the evening, we will hear an inspiring speech by Saimi Hoyer and a mentoring panel discussion where six entrepreneurs and experts from Kainuu share their experiences with mentoring. Additionally, the MATCH MADE mentoring program will be presented in its entirety during the evening. Welcome to the event, says Määttä.
The event is free of charge, but pre-registration is required. Registration is done on the Business Kainuu website (in Finnish).
The MATCH MADE mentoring program is implemented by projects co-funded by the European Union: Kainuu in all its diversity, Future entrepreneurs from Kainuu, MAKEA – Promoting Entrepreneurship among non-native speakers in Kainuu and Koillismaa, and Promoting Entrepreneurship and Business Succession as part of a Just and Green Transition.
