KAMK’s International Week – Winternational Week – brings together 92 visitors from international universities
Kajaani University of Applied Sciences will organize an international week, Winternational Week, from February 11th to 14th, 2024, on the Kajaani campus. The week brings together lecturers, other staff, and students, particularly from European partner universities.
The Winternational Week, held for the tenth time, will have participants from 6 countries and 14 different partner universities. During the week, guests will participate in various study modules, lectures, and get to try out different winter activities, such as ice swimming.
The aim of the international week is to deepen cooperation with KAMK’s partner universities. The week also supports the internationalization of KAMK students and offers networking opportunities for teachers and staff.
“In addition to traditional long-term mobility periods, it has been recommended to develop international cooperation around study modules and offer short-term exchange periods. To support this goal, KAMK has invited the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança from Portugal, which actively organizes Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) courses, to hold a workshop on the topic. The goal of the workshop is to brainstorm new courses, network, and discuss cooperation opportunities from the perspective of both study modules and RDI projects,” says Meira Kaikkonen, Head of International Affairs at Kajaani University of Applied Sciences.
This year, the week also includes many other implementations for students from various fields. The social and health care sector will implement a BIP course on the topic of Future Challenges in Social and Health Care in collaboration with 6 partner universities. In addition to visiting lecturers, students from our partner universities as well as KAMK students and teachers will participate in the course.
In the fields of business, tourism and sports, the week will be held over three days from February 11th to 13th, 2025. During the week, our guests from partner universities will present their schools’ exchange opportunities and give lectures.
KAMK’s Master School will organize two different study modules. The social and health care sector will implement a study module for the eighth time in collaboration with Neu-Ulm University on the topic of Smart Solutions for Wellbeing Service Development and Management. In addition to visiting professors, students from Neu-Ulm University as well as KAMK’s social and health care students and teachers will participate in the study module. The business field will organize an online study module on the topic of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. The study module will be implemented in collaboration with partner universities and industry experts.
