Deep tech innovation has been argued as being at the forefront of a new wave of innovation, which has potential to deliver transformative solutions in the face of global challenges (The New European Innovation Agenda). Consequently, the organizational competences concerning the deep technology (e.g., AI, robotics, advanced manufacturing) are becoming key competitive advantages of the businesses.
ENIHEI Kainuu project delves deeper into the deep tech competences of the companies embedded in the regional innovation valley. Particularly, the needs of improving deep tech competences and the ways of meeting the needs will be emphasized.

An increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in organizations is challenging workplaces and the current ways of working. The ongoing development has many positive but also negative consequences for businesses. How to get benefit and avoid drawbacks within this realm? The students’ work on Co-working with AI tackle with issue by analytically creating some concepts of services and products, and the initiatives for business.
The work has been conducted in collaboration with the Demola project. A key idea of the Demola project is to bring together students and companies to collaborate on real-world challenges and generate meaningful changes, through a user-centric approach.

Travelling in the 2040
The technological trajectory profoundly impacts on innovations in the travel and tourism businesses. It significantly changes the way of travelling in the future. No wonder, that the international master students got inspired to envision what traveling might be like in the year 2040. The students envision “a future where travel is not only about reaching a destination but also about the transformative power of exploration and connection.”

Inspiration on
University living labs play key roles in the regional innovation valley. They gather enterprises and the students of the regional innovation valleys together to innovate for the better future. ENIHEI Kainuu project seeks inspiration on University Living Labs from the working group one (WG 1) provided by the ENIHEI network. Also, the master’s thesis (work in progress) of the KAMK’s international student will contribute to the theme.
