The Karelia ENPI CBC White Road project, which developed cross-border tourism and was led by Kajaani University of Applied Sciences during the years 2012-2014, has again been commended in Russia. The implementation of the project was based on 13 partners, including the Karelian Resource Center for NGOs (KRC) from Petrozavodsk, the City of Kostomuksha, Naturpolis in Kuusamo, and Vuokatin matkailu and Wild Taiga from Kainuu, as well as Kajaani University of Applied Sciences. The project was awarded a prize in the “most sustainable partnership” category in the XV whole Russia “Strategic Planning of Regions and Cities” forum in St Petersburg, on 24th October 2016.
The partnership network will be used in applications connected to the Karelia ENI CBC program that will open in January. Among other actions, a project involving cooperation between and internationalization of events supporting tourism, is being planned.
