The Ministry for Education and Culture gave its unreserved support to ongoing development plans at KAMK. The Ministry provided positive feedback concerning KAMK’s results and active development of operations. In particular, KAMK’s ‘University of the future’ development venture aroused great interest. The ever-closer tie of cooperation between municipal education companies in the City of Kajaani and strategic university partners was seen as a positive direction for development.
According to the President of KAMK, Turo Kilpeläinen
, the atmosphere of the negotiations was excellent. As regards KAMK’s future, it was significant that the Ministry gave its full support to the development actions proposed by KAMK itself. This means that KAMK’s operations will continue to develop according to its own points of departure.
The negotiations between the Ministry of Education and Culture and Kajaani University of Applied Sciences took place in Helsinki, on 26.10.2016. The negotiations concerned the years 2017-2020.
